Akadia began as a family business, publishing works by distinguished Argentinian university professors or department chairs with the books Elementos e instrumentación quirúrgica, by Dr. Juan A. Viaggio, and Temas de terapéutica clínica, by Fernando G. Lasala and Carlos L. Sagasta. A book by the eminent specialist in diabetes, Dr. Maximino Ruiz followed. With these successful works the company expanded, and it continues to be a family-run press with the help of the founders’ children and grandchildren. Our books are exported to all Latin American countries and Spain, where we have both clients and distributors. We participate in many medical conventions in all areas of specialty as well as important international book fairs.
