Serendipidad began in 1990 with the book Manual de jardinería humana by Enrique Mariscal, applying creativity to cohabitation, education, and the search for liberating consciousness. More than twenty works by the press’s founder followed. They are works of inspiration and development of the human potential, with interdisciplinary perspectives, positivity, and humor. Serendipidad means “agreeable unexpected events;” it’s the ability to make discoveries by accident, through wisdom, which implies an open perspective in the seeker. Since 2005, Emilio Mariscal has followed these editorial guidelines to continue advancing Editorial Mariscal, with new imprints dedicated to children’s and young adult literature, education, and self-help.
